From Apprentice to Leader: Building Capability Through Performance at Integrity
Not every career starts with a plan. Many start with an opportunity and are built through performance.
Caleb Gilliam joined us right out of high school as a mold maker apprentice. He did not have industry experience. What he had was a clear objective. “I wanted to progress. I didn’t want to stay in one place.”
From day one, Caleb was learning by doing, working alongside experienced team members and contributing to production. That exposure built both technical skill and a broader understanding of how work is executed across the operation.
Our company operates as a connected system, where performance depends on alignment across teams, processes, and data. Developing people who understand that system is critical to delivering consistent results.
As Caleb progressed, so did his responsibility.
He moved from apprentice to leadership by taking ownership of work and supporting team performance to drive output across the shop.
Today, as a Production Supervisor, Caleb leads teams across mold making and machining, coordinates work across shifts, and continues expanding his technical capability.
His growth reflects how development happens:
Opportunity is available
Growth requires ownership
Performance drives advancement
Caleb puts it simply, “There’s a lot of opportunity here, but you have to want it. You have to prove yourself.”
As we continue to invest in capability, equipment, as well as process improvement, people like Caleb are critical to driving performance and delivering results for our customers.
Operational excellence is not just about systems. It is about the people who execute within them.
