From the Breakroom to the Community: How a Chili Cook-Off Reflects Our Culture
We believe strong companies are built on strong relationships.
That's why one of the most anticipated events each year at our Tennessee facility has nothing to do with manufacturing equipment or production schedules. It's our annual employee chili cook-off.
What began as a fun workplace tradition has become a meaningful way to strengthen connections and celebrate teamwork, reinforcing the culture that drives our organization forward.
Each year, employees bring their favorite recipes and coworkers cast their votes as friendly competition fills the lunchroom. While there are prizes for the winners, the event is really about creating opportunities for employees to connect and build relationships while enjoying time together outside of their daily responsibilities.
This year, the winning recipe took things a step further.
After claiming victory in our internal competition, the recipe went on to represent the company at Pulaski's community chili cook-off, bringing our team spirit into the local community.
The event reflects a broader commitment to community involvement that extends beyond the workplace.
As a manufacturing company, we may not produce products that local residents encounter every day. However, we recognize the importance of being an active and engaged member of the communities where we operate.
From supporting local youth sports programs and community organizations to participating in events that bring people together, we are committed to investing in the places our employees call home.
Community involvement is more than sponsorships or events. It's about building relationships, supporting local initiatives, and creating opportunities to make a positive impact.
We believe that when employees feel connected to one another and connected to their community, everyone benefits.
Sometimes that starts with something as simple as a bowl of chili.
